INTRODUCTION

The North Valley Golden Bears Football and Cheerleading program has been a division of the North Valley Club since 1969, which is a non-profit corporation with four divisions of youth sports: Football, Cheerleading, Track & Field, and Cross Country. The goad of the Golden Bears is simple: To provide the youth in the North Valley area an opportunity to learn and participate in a viable sports area. The North Valley Golden Bears intend to promote a healthy environment for the youth of our community. This achieved by teaching the youth about the fundamentals and rules of the sport, sportsmanship, the love of the game as well as how to take a few knocks and bumps. As part of the Valley Youth Conference, we engage in friendly competition with self-supporting clubs such as ours.
The Golden Bears provide competition in tackle football for youth ages 6-14 (placement will be according to your athlete’s age as of 8/1/10).  Cheerleaders are ages 6-14 with mascots ages 4-5

Cheerleading and Football Eligibility

All past accounts must be paid in full. NVAC will not release any football player or cheerleader if there are past debts owed to out organization. Each football player and cheerleader that has a monetary balance will also not be eligible to play for any other team in the Valley Youth Conference until that debt has been satisfied.

FUNDRAISING
In order to keep our costs to you down each year, we must have fundraising. Over the past year LAUSD has implemented a new fee of approximately $6,000 to every non-profit organization that utilizes their facilities, i.e. their fields. In order to offset this fee, we must have two club fundraisers this season. It is expected by North Valley that every child who participates in either football or cheer must participate in these fundraisers.

CAR WASH:
As in the past, every participant will be required to sell one book (7 tickets) to our Annular Club Car Wash, which will be held towards the end of August 2010. Expected participation in this fundraiser means your athlete will be required to sell their entire book. No exceptions! Your athlete will receive their book of tickets the first week of practice and will be given ample time to sell the tickets.

CANDY SALES:
Every participant in both football and cheer will be required to buy one (1) box of candy for $52.00 and when sold you will keep the money received as you have already paid the $52.00, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS! We will accept a BUY OUT of this particular fundraiser of $35. You will be required to pay this buy out fee at sign ups.

In order for your child to be certified to participate in our football/cheerleading program, the following items will be required:
* Physical Exam Form - EVERY PLAYER AND CHEERLEADER must have a physical exam prior to taking part in any practice beginning August 2, 2010. The results of all physicals must be filled out on the Valley Youth Conference form (provided in your registration packet). NO OTHER FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED, your child cannot start practice without this physical form.
